About lion roar sound effects

A full lion roar is a sequence rather than one sound. It starts with a few soft moans, builds to deep, open-throated roars and trails off in a series of grunts, and on a still night it can be heard from far away. Both males and females roar, mostly around dusk and through the night, to claim territory and to find members of the pride. The depth comes partly from the lion's vocal folds, which are thick and flat-edged, so they vibrate easily at a low pitch. A growl or grumble is a different thing: a closed, rumbling sound meant for close encounters, not distance. Cubs cannot roar yet. They mew and squeak, and their attempts at growling come out high and small.

How to write it in Korean

Which one to pick

Big roars

Lion Roar and Male Roar both build from a low rumble to a powerful peak, the classic sound for a title card. Valley Roar holds its body longer and rings in open space.

Close and rough

Rasping Roar is harsh and right on top of you, and Lion Grumble is a low growl without the roar, good for tension before a reveal.

Female and young

Lioness Call is a long, grunting call rather than a full roar. Young Cub Roar and Lion Cub are high and small, sweet more than scary.

Electronic

Synth Lion Roar is the only synthesized one, a gritty sawtooth growl suited to trailers, logos and games.
